

During an event in the Statenhal in Den Haag, organised by the House of Parliament, the Open State Foundation and Netwerk Democratie, Parliamentary data sets were offered to invited makers and thinkers to develop apps that explore the possibilities of a more transparant parliament by rendering those data usefull for society. Who cares developed a set of icons visualising what open government data could mean in practice and set the stage of the day elaborating on the logo developed by Topika. (photos top: Anne Beentjes)

Qlikview delivers data exploration software. During a hackathon organised by Hack de Overheid Qlikview shared their software in a Datajournalism Lab with the participating hackers and journalists that day to explore the datasets that were offered by other partnering organisations in the Hackathon. The Lab also consisted in a Teletekst like twitterwall sharing findings and other (non)related topics of the people that were using the software in the Lab. There was also a scoop alert to share data scoops enabling participants to collaborate and increase the quality of the findings. Who cares? developed and designed the Lab in collaboration with Heinze Havinga.

For a special anniversary edition of national archeology conference the Reuvensdagen organized by Erfgoed Nederland in De Doelen, Rotterdam, Who cares? took the 4 shades of the logo as startingpoint for a colourful, and recognizable layering throughout the whole venue.

For the kick-off meeting of a new funding and knowledge program aimed at innovative cultural productions (MLNA/OBSERVATORIUM) Who cares? designed a few spatial installations based on the visual identity (by Mediamatic), to support communicating the intentions of the program. The installations were partially connecting to the RFID fueled community system of the website. All elements were designed for re-use for meetings in the framework of MLNA/OBSERVATORIUM.

For Dish2009, a bi annual international conference on digitalising cultural heritage, organised by Erfgoed Nederland and Digitaal Erfgoed Nederland in De Doelen in Rotterdam, Who cares? cooperated with Valentine Kreykamp. Together we came up with a new 2D/3D visual identity for the conference. Only paper was used, collected afterwards and disposed of as paper waste.

Nieuw Domein Uitgevers in cooperation with Kluwer asked Who cares? to design the setting of this event promoting e-governance. Who cares? took the existing visual identity as a startingpoint to connect all activities that were part of the program.

For a seminar on business model innovation for cultural heritage (BMICE), aimed at organisations dealing with cultural heritage, Kennisland asked Who cares? to come up with some visual translations of the discussions/output of preceeding expert sessions. It proved to inspire even more output when people started writing on the tablecovers printed for the occasion.
